Parenting Child Care Rwanda (PCCR) is a Rwandan Non-Government Organization created in 2018 to improve the lives of children and their families in Kigali, Gasabo, Ngoma, Rwagama, and Krebe.  Programs currently focus on early childhood development, fighting malnutrition, increasing knowledge and skills in positive parenting, hygiene, learning through play in 2- to 6-year-olds.  They are addressing trauma and disabilities.

Since orphans and widows were traumatized by the 1994 genocide, 46% of women and 18% of men have experienced sexual, emotional or physical violence.   40% of women and 38% of men who experienced sexual or physical violence never told anyone.  As parents are the primary caregivers for their children, creating positive home environments and their needs for adequate support and guidance to foster more positive attachments, care and education is of paramount importance.

PCCR under Director Pastor Celestin Mitabu, trainer Adrienne Nahayo, and National Coordinator Caleb Rusamaza Banoge organized trainings for staff, teachers, parents, volunteers and officials to include Thought Field Therapy for self-care and treatment of traumas, depression, anger, pain, and anxiety.  They also were introduced to modified and simplified ways of using song, dance and play to impart calming centering skills to their very young children in mid-April 2026.
